Inside Look: George Clooney
#10. The Good German (Steven Soderbergh, 2006) - A gripping black-and-white WWII film where he stars opposite Cate Blanchett (The Aviator, Babel). Clooney + Soderbergh = must see.
#9. Out of Sight (Steven Soderbergh, 1998) - Another great Clooney/Soderbergh film. This was a big coming out party for Clooney. Jennifer Lopez (The Cell) is at her very best here.
#8. Solaris (Steven Soderbergh, 2002) - Well, well, well, another Soderbergh film. This is a fantastic Sci-Fi thriller that plays with your mind.
#7. The Men Who Stare At Goats (Grant Heslov, 2009) - Not the greatest film, but a wonderful performance by George. He's ridiculously funny and is basically the only reason to see this film.
#6. Ocean's Eleven/Ocean's Twelve/Ocean's Thirteen (Steven Soderbergh, 2001, 2004, 2007) - I decided to bunch the Danny Ocean films into one, since he's the same character. He's at his best in Eleven and Thirteen.
#5. Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (George Clooney, 2002) - His directorial debut is one of the best films ever made. He has so many fantastic lines in this film. Sam Rockell (Moon, Choke) has the performance of a life time.
#4. Burn After Reading (Ethan and Joel Coen, 2008) - An uneven film, but a wonderful performance by Clooney. He's so odd and delightful to watch here. The Coen Brothers + Clooney = gold.
#3. O Brother, Where Art Thou? (Ethan and Joel Coen, 2000) - His best comical performance. Kind of similar to his character in O Brother and Men Who Stare, but taken to another level.
#2. Up in the Air (Jason Reitman, 2009) - A wonderful film and a wonderful performance. This performance solidified his place at (or near) the top of any best actor list.
#1. Michael Clayton (Tony Gilroy, 2007) - A Tour-de-Force performance by Clooney. One of the best performances of the decade. A fantastic debut by Gilroy (Duplicity) and a chilling performance by Tom Wilkinson (The Ghost Writer, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind).
