Top 100 Films of the Decade (40-31)

40. Team America: World Police (2004) - Directed by Trey Parker. Starring Trey Parker, Matt Stone.
You have to be a fan of South Park to like this film, and I LOVE South Park. The soundtrack is hilarious and puppetry is something we've never experienced before.
39. The Hangover (2009) - Directed by Todd Phillips. Starring Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms.
I moved this film up the list a bit because of the wonderful time I had in the theater. There's nothing better than seeing a hilarious movie while surrounded by 500 strangers.
38. Batman Begins (2005) - Directed by Christopher Nolan. Starring Christian Bale.
Nolan is the best director in Hollywood right now. Bale has a much bigger role in this film, compared to The Dark Knight, where Heath Ledger steals the show.
37. The Village (2004) - Directed by M. Night Shyamalan. Starring Joaquin Phoenix, Adrien Brody.
This is the best of M. Night, and it's not even close. A lot of people think The Sixth Sense is his best work, but I don't. This film is shocking for so many reasons, and the acting is tremendous.
36. V for Vendetta (2006) - Directed by James McTeigue. Starring Natalie Portman.
This film wouldn't be what it is without the vocals of Hugo Weaving. Some people say this film glorifies terrorism and they're missing the point.
35. The Girl Next Door (2004) - Directed by Luke Greenfield. Starring Emile Hirsch, Elisha Cuthbert.
This was one of my favorite films in high school. This film is smarter than some people give it credit for.
34. Spider-Man 2 (2004) - Directed by Sam Raimi. Starring Tobey Macguire.
I'm not exactly sure what happened in 3, but this is the second best superhero film ever.
33. Slumdog Millionaire (2008) - Directed by Danny Boyle. Starring Dev Patel.
A Boyle film, what can I say. This film is an emotional roller coaster ride.
32. Up in the Air (2009) - Directed by Jason Reitman. Starring George Clooney, Anna Kendrick.
The decade ended with a bang thanks to this film and Avatar. Not to mention Brothers, Sherlock Holmes, Crazy Heart and A Single Man. December 2009 was a unbelievable month.
31. Tropic Thunder (2008) - Directed by Ben Stiller. Starring Ben Stiller, Robert Downey Jr.
Downey Jr. deserved the Golden Globe for his role. Stiller should direct more often.
