Top 100 Films of the Decade (80-71)
80. The Break-Up (2006) - Directed by Peyton Reed. Starring Vince Vaughn.
25th Hour
What happened to Vaughn after this film? His recent films have sucked. Couples Retreat? Are you serious?
79. Ocean's Eleven (2001) - Directed by Steven Soderbergh. Starring George Clooney, Brad Pitt.
By far the best of the three Ocean films. A fun trilogy, no doubt.
78. 25th Hour (2002) - Directed by Spike Lee. Starring Edward Norton.
The first time I saw this film I was 14. It was incredibly boring. However, I gave it another shot seven years later. I was young and stupid. It takes place in NYC not long after 9/11, and this film is haunting and unforgettable.
77. Super Troopers (2001) - Directed Jay Chandrasekhar. Starring Kevin Heffernan, Paul Soter.
Although Beerfest makes me laugh more, this film is more mature, has a better storyline, is smarter and better written.
76. The Boondock Saints (2000) - Directed by Troy Duffy. Starring Willem Dafoe.
This is a cult classic. It's not for everyone, especially anyone under the age of oh..say 15. It's also a guy movie, straight up. The sequel however, ranks among the worst sequels ever made. Don't argue with me.
75. Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back (2001) - Directed by Kevin Smith. Starring Jason Mewes, Will Ferrell.
Smith's best work undoubtedly. Federal Wildlife Marshal Willenholly...enough said.
74. The Royal Tenebaums (2001) - Directed by Wes Anderson. Starring Gene Hackman, Ben Stiller.
Anderson is so creative. His casts always consist of Jason Schwartzman, Owen Wilson, Luke Wilson, Bill Murray, and others like Stiller, Paltrow, Hackman, Brody, etc. You gotta love it.
73. Envy (2004) - Directed by Barry Levinson. Starring Ben Stiller, Jack Black.
Not too many people know about this film. The ones who do have mixed reactions towards it. I absolutely love it. Stiller is so angry and Black is so happy. They really feed off each other well. I love Stiller's rants, they're priceless.
72. The Bourne Identity (2002) - Directed by Doug Liman. Starring Matt Damon.
This is the only Bourne film on the list. Identity is the best, and that's not up for debate. But Supremacy and Ultimatum are very, very good films.
71. Lust, Caution (2007) - Directed by Ang Lee. Starring Wei Tang.
Ang Lee redeems himself after The Hulk and Brokeback (sorry, not for me). It's rated NC-17, and for good reason. But this film is intense and heartbreaking. This is a Chinese film, so everyone run for the hills.
