Jackass 3D (2010) R

If you have not seen the previous two Jackass films or the MTV television series, then disregard this review. This third installment is in 3D (if you can't read). Was it completely necessary? No, but it definitely made it more enjoyable. Jeff Tremaine, who directed the first two films, is back once again. And of course, the same group of guys are also back. They include: Johnny Knoxville, Bam Margera, Steve-O, Chris Pontius, Ryan Dunn, Dave England, Ehren McGhehey, Jason Acuna (Wee Man) and Preston Lacy (who was also credited as the writer).

Tremaine, Oscar nominated director Spike Jonze, Phil and April Margera, skateboarding legends Tony Hawk and Mat Hoffman, pro football players Jared Allen, Josh Brown and Erik Ainge all get into the fun.

Some of the skits are funnier than others, as usual. Some are completely unnecessary and others are shockingly disgusting. Steve-O is always the one who does the grossest stunts and Knoxville does the most dangerous ones. Although this film isn't quite as funny as the previous two, the 3D makes it worth while. I will mention some of the stunts/skits I enjoyed the most.

Probably the funniest one was "Jet Airplane." It was absolutely hilarious watching them try to do various things behind the jet engine. Getting hit by a football at 100+ mph has got to hurt. "The Blind Side" features Vikings sackmaster Jared Allen, and oh my does he demolish Knoxville. "Lamborghini Tooth Pull" looked as painful as it sounds. "Beehive Tetherball" had England crying like a girl. The "Poo Cocktail Supreme" was unbelievably nasty, but you can't help but laugh. "The Invisible Man" had Knoxville trying to hide from a Buffalo...that didn't end well, as you could imagine.

A lot of skits had various cast members getting hit in their genitals. Which will always make a man cringe. There is an awful lot of male nudity throughout, but were mature adults, right? Steve-O drinks a cup of sweat. They crash various small vehicles at rapid speeds. Josh Brown kicks a FG into Lacy's face from 5 yards away. Dunn gets rammed by a ram numerous times. Half the crew go through a gauntlet full of hanging Tasers. And so on, and so forth.

Most of it is rather funny. The good ones outweigh the bad ones. The best stunts are the ones where everyone gets involved. Rather than just one or two guys, because the reations are often better than the stunt itself. It's mostly a guy movie, but plenty of women in the audience were laughing hysterically. They sure seem to be running out of ideas, and I'm not sure how much longer they can last. Jackass 4 is probably inevitable, especially after the $50 million this film raked in this past weekend. It's simple, if you like Jackass, then see this film. Otherwise, stay away!
